About
I am a voice actor with a passion for narrating within a wide range of English language voices and accents. My voice has been described as having a dynamic range of smooth and melodic tones suited for engaging and immersive text. My primary experience is in audiobook/podcast character voices and narration as well as sound production. I am equipped to record and produce high-quality work from a home studio complete with MXL 990 Condenser XLR mic, Focusrite Scarlet Solo XLR Interface, Pop Shield, Mic Isolation Shield, 270* 3" HD Foam Booth, 4-layer Sound Dampening Drapes, and a MacBook Pro. The convenience of a private studio allows for quick turnaround on a variety of projects, without the restraints of scheduling studio time. I am an avid reader and lover of audiobooks, so I know from experience what can make or break a performance. As your narrator, it is my job and my pleasure to breathe life into your work with as much or little direction as you'd like to impart. I welcome a collaborative relationship with the rights holder to ensure I am fulfilling, or preferably exceeding, their expectations in my interpretation and representation of their work.
My business name - Highland Whimsy - is very special to me. I come from a long line of Highland Scots, with Celtic whimsy thrumming through my veins. My mother immigrated to the States with I was a baby, and I've spent the better part of my life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Though my highlands here have exchanged heather for laurels, I treasure a similar serenity and freedom. Those who know me would agree that "Highland Whimsy" is an apt embodiment of my soul. My mind is steeped in whimsy, and my heart is ret with wonder.
Whimsy (n.) playfully quaint or fanciful behavior or humor.

Highland Whimsy productions presents:
"The Queen is Dead"
Written by C. H. Folan.
Narrated by Lauren Kayler.
Available on Audible Fall 2024.
For lovers of tragic romance, magical settings and unforgettable characters, The Queen Is Dead is a speculative retelling of Shakespeare's Macbeth told from the perspective of literature's most fiendish queen. Inspired by the historical figures behind the infamous characters, this unflinching re-examining seeks a more satisfying origin story for the serpent beneath the flower. If love made her a traitor, then hate made her a queen.
I have been cast into season two of the YarnSaga Podcast set to release throughout Fall 2023. Stay tuned for episode links as they drop:
